muvee Technologies Takes On The (Cy)World

muvee Technologies has announced a collaboration with the largest social networking site in Korea – Cyworld, to provide a new video editing service for the latter’s more than 20 million users. This new offering allows consumers to access hundreds of online editing styles that lets them easily add music and unique styles to their videos and photos and automatically create fun and interesting muvees for sharing.

More than 50 million copies of muvee’s flagship product, autoProducer, have been sold to over 100 countries and the U.S. accounts for over 65% of the company’s revenue. muvee’s software and services lets users create and share professional quality instant home movies out of unedited video, digital pictures and music. Its online editing services also power the video editing platforms for Taiwan’s most popular website, wretch.cc – now part of Yahoo!

Founded in 2001, the Singapore startup received one round of venture capital funding in 2002 from Vertex Venture and the second from Walden International Investment in 2004. The company says that they have been profitable since their third year of operation and doubling revenue year-on-year. Headquartered in Singapore, muvee now has offices in Seoul, Tokyo, New York and San Francisco.
